CPAF 2023

We’re excited to welcome all our participants, their families, supporters and teachers to our CPAF community!

 

Young artists from across Alberta compete across multi-disciplinary performing arts. Eligible categories in our music festival include: Solo, Ensemble & Chamber performances.

2023 Schedule

Setting the stage for 2023 we are happy to release the detailed 2023 CPAF Schedule.

This years schedule can be viewed in three ways:

 

Note the schedule is subject to change leading into April 20 2023 as we finalize individual competitor requirements.

2023 Syllabi

Important Dates:

  • Registrations will open Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, and close Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, at 11:59 pm MST.

  • CPAF 2023 runs from April 18 - May 6, 2023.

 

Performance Locations:

We are in the process of securing amazing venues for all performers this year and will have updated venue information in the weeks to come. What we do know is that the locations include the Bella Concert Hall and Leacock Theatre, Mount Royal University, the 

Engineered Air Theatre, Arts Commons and Doherty Hall, Stampede Park. We thank everyone for your patience as we relaunch CPAF.

 

Scholarships:

During our festival, talented and aspiring young artists compete for the chance to win over $20,000 worth of scholarships across multiple disciplines. All First Place performers will receive a scholarship award. Scholarship Awards are determined by the Adjudicator in alignment with prescribed scholarship requirements.

 

Official Placement:

  • All performers will be publicly acknowledged on the CPAF website within 15 days of the conclusion of the festival. 

  • First and Second placements in each performance class will be recognized on the CPAF website.

  • The overall festival Rosebowl winner will be recognized on the CPAF website.

 

Adjudicators:

We’re very happy to announce we have attracted an impressive list of reputable, internationally-recognized adjudicators. More information about them will be coming soon.

 

Rules and Regulations:

When you register to participate in the CPAF 2023, you agree to abide by the CPAF Rules and Regulations. Please read them carefully.

Registration for CPAF 2023 is now closed.

We're excited about once again hosting Alberta's young performers LIVE from April 18th to May 5th.

Cancelations

  • No changes may be made after Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023. A $25 administration fee will be applied to all cancellations. Please check your schedule carefully before you enter the Calgary Performing Arts Festival.

  • Between Feb. 1 and April 1, 2023, CPAF will provide refunds for half your class fee, minus a $25 administration fee. 

  • After the Saturday, Apr. 1 deadline, no refunds will be given.
